Am 11. Februar 2025 hat die Europäische Aufsichtsbehörde für das Versicherungswesen und die betriebliche Altersversorgung EIOPA den IORPs in Focus Report 2024 veröffentlicht.

Der Bericht gibt einen Überblick über die jüngsten Entwicklungen im Bereich der Einrichtungen der betrieblichen Altersversorgung (EbAV; englisch: Institutions for Occupational Retirement Provsision bzw. IORPs, in Deutschland Pensionskassen und Pensionsfonds) im Europäischen Wirtschaftsraum (EWR). Erstmals seit 2018 legt EIOPA damit wieder einen Bericht zu allen EbAV vor und beschränkt sich nicht auf die grenzüberschreitend tätigen Einrichtungen – welche nur eine kleine Minderheit der EbAV ausmachen.

In Kapitel 2.6 findet sich folgender Absatz, der u.E. zeigt, dass EIOPA das Thema EbAV-Kostenberichtswesen weiter verfolgt: „It is important to note that the figures on expenses are likely to underestimate the true costs of administering occupational pension schemes. Most NCAs collect accounting data but not transparent information on costs and charges, including direct costs but also indirect costs incurred at the level of investment funds and asset managers. EIOPA’s advice for the review of the IORP II Directive recommends that NCAs require IORPs to report on an annual basis information on all costs and charges in DC schemes, according to the principles, and with the definitions and templates set out in EIOPA’s Opinion on the supervisory reporting of costs and charges of IORPs. As from 1 January 2025, NCAs can already report transparent cost data of IORPs to EIOPA on a voluntary basis.“
